Island Life and Costumed Kayaks: Chelsy Davy Offers Rare Glimpse into Mauritius Family Life for Halloween

Zimbabwean businesswoman and jewelry designer Chelsy Davy has treated followers to a rare snapshot of her private family life, sharing photographs from her tropical Halloween celebrations in Mauritius alongside her husband and children.
The 41-year-old founder of fine jewelry line Aya and boutique travel firm Aya Africa has largely stepped away from public life since dating Prince Harry on and off between 2004 and 2011. Having relocated to the Indian Ocean island with hotelier husband Sam Cutmore-Scott, Davy embraced the holiday with island-style festivities.
Halloween with a Mauritian Twist

Posting to her social media channels, Davy shared a seasonal portrait alongside a concise caption: “Happy Halloween,” punctuated with a pumpkin emoji.
-
The Costumes: Davy donned a brown witch’s hat, sunglasses, and a casual summer dress while holding three-year-old daughter Chloe, dressed as a unicorn. Four-year-old son Leo joined in sporting a superhero ensemble.
-
Trick-or-Treating by Water: Rather than walking door-to-door through traditional suburban streets, footage showed the children trick-or-treating along the water via kayak, steered by Cutmore-Scott dressed in a rockstar jacket and vibrant wig.
-
A Growing Family: Davy and Cutmore-Scott—who wed in an intimate ceremony in Mauritius in 2022—are parents to Leo, Chloe, and their youngest son, Finn.
Reflecting on a Decade of Growth: “Commitment Wasn’t My Strong Suit”

The holiday update arrives shortly after Davy penned a personal essay marking the 10th anniversary of Aya, looking back on how her outlook shifted from transient adventure to grounded domestic and professional life:
-
Guarded Independence in Her 30s: Reflecting on turning 31 when she launched the business, Davy admitted she was initially driven almost entirely by travel and avoiding ties:
“Perhaps that’s because, back then, commitment wasn’t exactly my strong suit. If I’m completely honest, the only thing I was committed to was having fun… I lived in Istanbul. I travelled around South America. I went to Bali, the Amazon, Moscow. I wasn’t remotely interested in staying in one place, following a conventional career path or committing to anything that might interfere with whatever sounded most exciting.”
-
Fierce Protection of Freedom: She recalled deliberately arriving at events solo to sidestep expectations: “I was fiercely protective of my freedom… Even a wingman involved a level of logistical commitment I preferred to avoid.”
The Pivot to Family Life

Davy acknowledged that marriage and children were not always part of her long-term plan until meeting Cutmore-Scott during the COVID-19 pandemic at age 35. The couple’s connection to Mauritius deepened during extended family visits to her parents on the island during global travel pauses, eventually inspiring their permanent move.
While Davy remains widely recognized for her high-profile seven-year relationship with Prince Harry, the pair have maintained an amicable dynamic over the years, with Davy attending the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in May 2018 before establishing her low-profile life in Mauritius.
