Crime drama fans need to watch this gripping thriller based on not one but two best-selling novels. Adolescence proved to be a global triumph for Netflix last year with actor Stephen Graham winning the Golden Globe for his performance.

Now the legendary Liverpudlian is back but in a far more sinister role for Apple TV’s upcoming crime thriller Nocturne. He will be starring opposite Ray Donovan’s Liev Schreiber and Joker actress Zazie Beetz in this “riveting” new 10-part drama based on Lars Kepler’s best-selling novels Lazarus and The Sandman. But unlike in Adolescence, Nocturne viewers will get to see Graham’s sinister side on screen.

Nocturne “tells the story of Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who, tired of working the tough streets of Philadelphia, moves to a small town in Western Pennsylvania for a quiet life”, the official description reads.

“But, as the town and his family come under attack from the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter (Graham), Jonah must protect all that he holds dear.

“When the desperate search for Jurek’s last missing victim forces Jonah to send his surrogate daughter FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz) up against Jurek, how far will Jonah go?”

Unfortunately for crime drama fans though, Nocturne won’t be released until later this year on Friday, October 30, on Apple TV.

Only the first two episodes will be dropped on this release date with the remaining new episodes coming out weekly.

The grand finale of Nocturne is scheduled to be released on Friday, December 25, on the streamer.

As well as the three main stars, Nocturne’s ensemble cast will be made up of The Queen’s Gambit star Bill Camp, This is Us star Chrissy Metz and Lord of Chaos actor Rory Culkin.

Nocturne debuts on Friday, October 30, on Apple TV.
