‘I’m truly touched by all the love you’ve sent my way, it means more to me than I can say. I’m so excited for the year ahead and everything that’s to come.

‘I can’t wait to share it all with you. With love, Susan x’

The singer’s new Larbert home, is situated 20 miles from her humble childhood countil home and is much closer to her manager.

It has been a struggle for Susan to leave her special house in Blackburn, West Lothian, because she has lived there ‘all her life’.

Susan is said to have moved house to be closer to her manager and PA, Geraldine Easton, 41, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘Susan has lived in that house all her life and is a proud Blackburn woman.

‘This has been a real emotional wrench for her. She always spoke about feeling a strong bond to her parents by remaining there.’

Susan has previously tried to move house, as she moved to a £300,000 mansion nearby in 2011, but couldn’t settle there and returned to her spiritual home.

Four years later, she bought the house next door for £110,000, and then later combined the two properties to create her dream property.

Susan has previously clung strongly to her roots, refusing to leave the council estate neighbourhood.

In 2017, it was revealed that Susan has been subjected to a prolonged campaign of intimidation on the very street where she grew up.

‘They have been shouting at me, taunting, saying vile things, swearing,’ she says. ‘And on one occasion they were throwing things at the bus I was sitting on.’

Teenagers had crowded around her as she walked to the local shops, shouting and calling her names, and throwing stones and pieces of burning paper yet it was the place she felt safest.

The ordeals must be terrifying. With a £25 million fortune, most people in her position would have fled to a more secure home there and then.

‘I love my house, it’s where I grew up,’ she said at the time. ‘Why would I move out because of a group of teenagers who behave like that? They are bullies who shout and throw things, but it is my home and where I feel safe.

‘I love my neighbours, they are the most beautiful group of people who always look out for me and make sure I am OK. It’s where I grew up with my mum and dad and it has memories. Why should I move because of a group of daft laddies, who at 15 years old should know to behave better?’

Despite singing with a plethora of household names, she likes nothing better than a trip to her local charity cafe for some tea, toast and scrambled eggs.

Susan, who has two cats, has even told some of her closest friends that she doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about – despite having sold more than 20 million records and reportedly having more than £22million in the bank.

A trip to her neighbourhood, which has a population of just under 5,900 people, showed just how normal her daily life is in the tiny community of Blackburn, Scotland.

Described by the locals as a deprived area, around 45 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow, it boasts just a small high street with a handful of shops, a couple of takeaways and a wee community cafe or two for Susan to relax in.

Her friend Kim, who works at The Larders cafe, serves Susan regularly and sees her as being just like any other customer.

Kim said: ‘She’s normal. She’s no superstar here. I think she reminds me of my wee granny.

‘She comes in and she’s happy and she’s aye pleased to see you. She gives you a cuddle.’

Susan first shot to fame back in 2009 when she delivered a jaw-dropping audition of I Dreamed A Dream on Britain’s Got Talent.

And now she is preparing for a massive year, with rumours of a documentary and new music coming out.
