Lesley Manville will star alongside Brett Goldstein in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video comedy series “Escorted,” Variety has learned.

The show was originally announced in November 2025 with an eight-episode order. The logline states, “A divorced dad (Goldstein) in Manhattan accidentally becomes a male escort in this romantic comedy about sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.”

Manville will appear in a series regular role as Terri, the mother of Goldstein’s character, Denny. Terri is described as “A charisma bomb cabaret legend, Terri is a force of nature with the voice to match.”

 

Manville received an Academy Award nomination in 2018 for her supporting role in the Paul Thomas Anderson film “Phantom Thread.” She is also a seven-time BAFTA Award nominee, most recently for her work in the hit Netflix series “The Crown.” She previously appeared in the Amazon series “Citadel” as well as shows like “Harlots,” “Disclaimer,” “Grotesquerie,” “North and South,” and “Mum.” In film, she has starred in features including “Another Year” and “Let Him Go.”

She is repped by Artists Rights Group, Avalon Television and Public Eye Communications.

In addition to starring in “Escorted,” Goldstein is the writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on the series. Brian Gallivan, who currently works with Goldstein on the critically-acclaimed Apple TV show “Shrinking,” will also executive produce and serve as co-showrunner.
