A Welsh crime drama hailed as “thrilling” viewing is available to stream now and viewers are in for a treat.

Titled 35 Diwrnod: Parti Plu – which translates as 35 Days: Hen Party – the programme was filmed around Wales and is the latest in the 35 Diwrnod series. The series is known for its twist, where each series starts out with a dead body on day 35, then tracks back over the 35 days to reveal what happened and how the person came to have been killed.

It premiered in 2014 and its fifth series has now been added to ITVX.

The latest instalment follows Beth (Gwenllian Higginson) and her husband to be Dylan (Geraint Todd), who are planning for their wedding and have everything in place for their big day.

Writer Fflur Dafydd said on her website: “There will be a body, like every other series of 35. At the beginning of the first episode, we see a veil in the water, and a girl lying face down. We know from the outset that there has been a murder and we work back from there – as we do with every other series of 35.

“But despite the whodunnit element – I think with this particular series that the characters and their secrets become far more compelling.”

The series has been popular with viewers, with one posting on IMDb.com: “Thrilling. Addictive, well written… It’s so smart and I hope everyone watches it.”

“Great engrossing drama with many twists,” said someone else.

“It was a great change from the usual detective story – by showing the murder victim die to begin with, then working up to it over the previous 35 days,” they added.

“Be ready for almost every character to have a definite dark and deceitful core.”

“The premise is fun – you know the end right from the start, and subsequent episodes unravel the who and why,” said another impressed viewer.

“Red herrings, unexpected twists, and lots of unreal drama make these seasons a lot of fun to watch,” they went on.

35 Days: Hen Party is available to stream on ITVX.
