Meghan Markle Accused of ‘Snobbish and Rude’ Behavior as Source Claims Montecito Housekeepers Didn’t Want to Work for Sussexes
Meghan Markle reportedly struggled to hire household staff at her Montecito mansion after claims about her behavior during interviews began circulating among local workers.
The Duchess of Sussex, 45, and Prince Harry have lived in the exclusive California community for around six years after stepping away from their roles as working members of the Royal Family in 2020.
But according to an unnamed source cited by Page Six, life behind the gates of their sprawling home may not always have been as straightforward as it appeared.
Source claims Meghan personally interviewed housekeepers

The source alleged that Meghan experienced difficulty finding people willing to work at the Sussexes’ home because some local housekeepers were reluctant to take jobs with the couple.
“She had trouble hiring maids because a lot of the housekeepers in Montecito didn’t want to work for them,” the source claimed.
According to the insider, Meghan personally interviewed prospective employees and allegedly left some with a negative impression.
“Meghan would interview people herself and could come across as really snobbish and rude,” the source alleged.
The insider went further, claiming that some prospective employees were offended enough by their interactions that stories began circulating among other housekeepers in the area.
“Some of them were so offended by the way she spoke to them that word started getting around,” the source said, claiming it eventually became a joke that “all the maids in Montecito hated them.”
The allegations have not been independently verified.

Meghan has previously denied allegations about her treatment of staff
The latest claims come after Meghan has faced scrutiny over her relationships with employees on previous occasions.
She has denied earlier allegations that she mistreated members of staff, and the new account represents the claims of an unnamed source rather than an established finding about her conduct.
A representative for the Duchess has reportedly been approached for comment regarding the latest allegations.
Harry and Meghan reportedly preparing for UK move
The claims have emerged as Harry and Meghan are reportedly preparing to relocate to Britain before the end of August.
The couple bought their Montecito property after leaving royal duties and moving to North America in 2020. They subsequently established their lives in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Despite reports of an imminent move back to Britain, they are expected to retain their California residence.
It remains unclear how many people currently work at the Montecito property or what staffing arrangements would be maintained if the Sussex family spends significantly more time in Britain.
Their reported new UK residence is said to be a privately owned, non-royal property, and there has been no confirmation regarding whether they will employ a household staff there.
For now, the claims about Meghan’s difficulties hiring in Montecito remain allegations attributed to an unnamed source — but they add another chapter to the long-running public debate surrounding the Duchess and her relationships with those who have worked around her.
