Michael Strahan Reportedly Welcomes Baby Girl With Longtime Girlfriend Kayla Quick — Former NFL Star Becomes a Dad of Five

Michael Strahan has reportedly welcomed a new addition to his family — and this time, he is stepping into fatherhood with a baby girl.

The former NFL star and longtime Good Morning America anchor has reportedly become a father for the fifth time, quietly welcoming his first child with girlfriend Kayla Quick earlier this year, according to TMZ.

The couple reportedly welcomed a daughter, although neither Strahan nor Quick has publicly announced the birth.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Strahan’s representative for confirmation.

If confirmed, the news marks a major new chapter for the 54-year-old television personality, who is already the father of four adult children and a grandfather.

A surprise new addition to Strahan’s family

Strahan already has a large family from his previous relationships.

He shares daughter Tanita, 34, and son Michael Jr., 31, with his former wife Wanda Hutchins. He also shares twin daughters Isabella and Sophia, both 21, with ex-wife Jean Muggli.

Now, according to the report, Strahan has welcomed another daughter — bringing his number of children to five.

The reported arrival also makes Strahan a father once again at a very different stage of life. His four older children are now adults, with Tanita herself having already started a family of her own.

In September 2024, Tanita welcomed a son named Onyx, making Strahan a grandfather for the first time.

That means the television personality has now reportedly experienced both sides of a major family milestone: becoming a grandfather while also welcoming another child of his own.

His relationship with Kayla Quick has remained private

Strahan and Kayla Quick have been together since May 2015, but the couple has generally kept their relationship away from the spotlight.

Quick, 36, has occasionally appeared alongside Strahan at important family and public events.

She attended Strahan’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023, when the former football player was honored with his star.

That same year, Quick was also present for Isabella’s high school graduation, showing that she has been part of important moments in Strahan’s family life.

Quick is also the co-founder of FIZZNESS, a wellness supplement company.

Despite their long relationship, the pair has rarely made their private life a major part of their public image. That privacy makes the reported arrival of their first child together particularly notable.

Strahan is already a grandfather

The reported birth comes less than two years after Strahan became a grandfather.

His daughter Tanita welcomed her first child, a son named Onyx, in September 2024.

Strahan has spoken with pride about his children over the years, but his role as a grandfather has added another dimension to his family life.

Now, if the report of his fifth child is confirmed, Strahan will be balancing life as both a father to a new baby and a grandfather to his grandson.

The timing also means that his older children are old enough to experience the arrival of their new half-sibling from a very different perspective than they did when they were younger.

Family has been especially important to Strahan in recent years

Strahan’s family has faced an especially challenging period following the health battle of his daughter Isabella.

In late 2023, Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor that develops in the cerebellum, a region at the base of the skull.

The diagnosis became a deeply emotional experience for Strahan and his family.

In January 2025, Strahan spoke to PEOPLE about how he dealt with watching his daughter go through treatment.

He said he knew Isabella would fight and described her determination throughout the experience.

By June 2024, Isabella was reported to be cancer-free after completing her final round of chemotherapy.

Although the news brought enormous relief, Strahan has acknowledged that the experience changed the way he thinks about his daughter’s health.

“You still worry”

Strahan recently opened up again about Isabella’s experience during an appearance on Keke Palmer’s podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, in July.

He explained how difficult it was to confront a situation he could not simply solve for his child.

As a father, Strahan was accustomed to being able to help his children when they encountered everyday problems.

Whether they needed something for school or help with another challenge, he could usually find a solution.

But Isabella’s diagnosis was different.

He explained that this was a situation where he could not simply “fix” what was happening.

Even after Isabella became cancer-free, Strahan admitted that the worry never completely disappears.

He said that she is back at school, doing well and living her life as a 21-year-old, but that the experience remains in the back of his mind.

Even when doctors are pleased with her results, he said, “You still worry.”

That experience has offered a rare glimpse into the more vulnerable side of a television personality who is often known for his energetic presence on Good Morning America and his successful career in sports and entertainment.

From NFL star to television personality

Before becoming one of television’s familiar morning-show faces, Strahan built his reputation on the football field.

He spent his entire NFL career with the New York Giants and became one of the most recognizable defensive players of his era.

After retiring from professional football, Strahan successfully transitioned into television.

He eventually became a prominent presence on ABC’s Good Morning America, where he has continued to build a second career far removed from his days in the NFL.

His personal life, however, has remained an important part of his story.

From raising four children to supporting Isabella through her health battle and becoming a grandfather, family has continued to play a central role in Strahan’s life away from the cameras.
