Princess Catherine and her younger sister were once given an unfortunate nickname.

Princess Catherine and her sister Pippa Middleton were previously given a brutal joint nickname. Pippa, who married James Matthews in 2017, is Catherine’s younger sister by two years.
She famously attracted media attention following her appearance at her sister’s 2011 wedding to Prince William, but she was previously subject to an unflattering nickname alongside her sister in the early days. Speaking on the latest episode of Talking Royals, royal author Simon Vigar revealed that Catherine and Pippa were known as the “Wisteria Sisters“.
As well as the press’s nickname of “Waity Katie”, she was also given the nickname with her sister – as well as “nasty stuff” being said about their mother due to her former career as a flght attendant.
The sisters’ nickname was a reference to how fast they could climb their social circle.
Mr Vigar said: “The British were obsessed with class, we’ve forgotten what a huge change this is for a middle class girl from Berkshire to now be in that position what wasn’t thinkable when Charles and Diana got married.”
Host Charlene White then added: “The press wasn’t exactly lovely [to her],” to which he added: “Waity Katie, Wiseria Sisters, yeah, social climbs…”
Catherine and Pippa also grew up alongside their younger brother named James.

Catherine’s family lived in Jordan for around two and a half years during her early childhood, before they later returned to Berkshire.
She later met William during her time at the University of St Andrews in the early 2000s.
The couple later got engaged in late 2010, before tying the knot in April 2011.
