ARSENAL Invincible Lauren wants Tottenham to survive relegation.
But only so that his beloved club can “beat them” again next season.
Spurs have been enduring a shambolic season that has seen them embroiled in an intense relegation scrap as they are currently 18th in the Premier League table.
But the iconic full-back Lauren, who played a key role during the Gunners’ legendary 2003-4 campaign that saw them winning the Prem undefeated, is adamant his former club need their rivals in the top flight.
The ex-Cameroon international wants Tottenham to survive their nightmare relegation scrap so Arsenal can take points off them next season after thrashing them 4-1 in both of their meetings this term.
Lauren, 49, told SunSport on behalf of CasinoWizard: “As an Arsenal fan there is a game we want to see every single season and that is the North London Derby against Tottenham.
“It’s good to be playing your biggest rivals every season. I don’t think Tottenham going down would be good news for Arsenal fans or the Premier League in general.
“It’s good to play them and beat them and I want that to continue.
“Tottenham relegation would be a big shock to the Premier League but preferably I would see them stay up and we take some points off them again next season.”
Arsenal, though, have also found themselves in a difficult place having surrendered a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League that puts their title hopes in serious jeopardy.

The North Londoners lost 2-1 at Manchester City, who are now in the driver’s seat as they are only three points behind Mikel Arteta’s men with a game in hand.
That means the Gunners could be denied their first Premier League title since 2004, when Lauren along with legends like Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp made history.
Pressure is now piling up for Arteta, 44, as some question his ability to restore Arsenal to the top after also bottling three Premier League title bids in a row.
However, Lauren insists all the trash talk needs to stop and still has full faith in the Spanish tactician.
And the former Portsmouth star still believes the Prem trophy will end up at the Emirates.
Lauren added: “All the talk of Arteta being at risk and Arsenal winning no trophies needs to stop.
“I don’t think that way, because I think Arsenal are going to win the Premier League.
“I’m positive, I am confident. Losing against Manchester City has not ended the race for the title.
“The only issue against Manchester City was that they took their chances and Arsenal didn’t. The only disappointment was in the final third.
“That’s the difference in those types of games, the small margins are highlighted for everybody to see.
“Manchester City weren’t better – they aren’t better – they just took their chances.”
