FRANK LAMPARD was crowned Championship Manager of the Season at the EFL Awards – and had fans in stitches when he got on stage to make a heartwarming speech.
The Coventry chief, 47, picked up the gong just two days after steering his side into the Premier League.
The Sky Blues ended their 25-year wait to return to the top-flight by grabbing a 1-1 draw against Blackburn on Friday.
And Lampard, who has been hailed by SunSport columnist and uncle Harry Redknapp, was rewarded by being named the Championship’s best boss.
But the legendary midfielder had fans racing onto social media when he was spotted doing his trademark face change while making an emotional speech about his wife Christine.
One said: “Superb Lampardian transition.”
Another added: “How does he do it every time?”
A third noted: “Speech about how much he loves his wife and he still gets the Lampardian transition in. This is a top, top operator at the peak of his powers.”
A fourth chimed in: “He is the absolute master of it. He does it even when he’s talking about his wife.
“He should’ve been an actor given how quick he turns it off and on. Snaps straight back in.”

A fifth commented: “The Lampardian switch! So good.”
Lampard previously revealed he gets mocked by his daughter because of the memes created thanks to his dramatic change from joking to being serious in interviews.
But he was paying tribute to wife Christine when he headed onto the stage to collect his Championship Manager of the Season award.
Lampard said: “I am fortunate enough at this point to have a life balance, which is important for us, where I can go home to my wife who supports me and gives me everything I need.
“She’s my best friend. I’m lucky she has her own career and so I think she kind of gets it.
“But every other manager in this room will say that’s so important because it’s such an intense job.
“You go to work and you live in this bubble. There’s so many problems, but you know what you’re trying to get the best, and then you come home and you need that balance.”
Lampard married Northern Irish broadcaster Christine in December 2015 and they have gone on to have two children together.
