For much of the year, the Today show anchors help viewers start their mornings bright and early. But each summer, many of the familiar faces step away from Studio 1A for some well-earned vacation time.

Whether they’re relaxing on the beach or exploring international cities, the Today co-hosts have shared glimpses of their getaways on social media that help them recharge away from the early-morning news cycle.

Most recently, Craig Melvin enjoyed a family vacation on South Carolina’s Hilton Head Island, while Dylan Dreyer continued her longtime tradition of vacationing in Turks and Caicos with her former in-laws, despite filing for divorce from her former husband, Brian Fichera, in March 2026.

Family Traditions

Dreyer has spent more than a decade vacationing in Turks and Caicos with her in-laws each summer. That tradition continued in 2026, even after she filed for divorce from her former husband, Fichera, in March. Although Fichera didn’t join the trip due to scheduling conflicts, Dreyer still traveled with their three sons.

“Family is family,” she said during an August 2026 episode of Today after returning from the annual vacation. “We look forward to it every year, my kids especially since they get to spend a whole week with their cousins. I still went. To me, yes, it was a family I married into, but it’s a family I’m very close with.”

Family Fun in the Sun

In July 2026, Craig Melvin enjoyed a beach vacation on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina with his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, and their kids, Delano and Sybil.

Czarniak shared some photos from the trip on Instagram, writing, “Family ❤️ #grateful #family #HHI #summer.”

La Dolce Vita

Al Roker and his wife, Deborah Roberts, went on an Italian adventure in August 2025 to celebrate the Today show anchor’s 71st birthday and their 30th wedding anniversary.

The couple made stops in Tuscany, Milan, Lake Como, Rome, Venice and Siena, per Roker’s Instagram post. Their trip also included a luxurious two-night stay aboard the La Dolce Vita Orient Express.

Bonding in Paradise

Roker loves traveling around the world with his son, Nick, especially now that he’s older.

“When the kids are old enough that vacation really is vacation!” the Today co-host wrote on Instagram in March 2023.

Postcards from Italy

Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry Chase Hager, soaked up the sights in Rome with their children in August 2025, checking out the iconic Colosseum, taking in historic art and cathedrals, and, of course, eating some gelato.

Last Days of Summer

Hoda Kotb, who left the Today show in January 2025 but has since returned as a guest anchor, reunited with Dreyer over Labor Day weekend in September 2025 for a family getaway with their children, soaking up the final days of summer.

Recovery for Mind, Body and Soul

Four months after her husband Uche Ojeh’s death in May 2025, Sheinelle Jones traveled to Tobago in the Caribbean with her children and close friends.

“One morning when I was meditating, I saw a rainbow stretch across the bright blue sky. It brought me such comfort as my ‘restorative tour’ came to a close,” she wrote on Instagram alongside photos from the healing getaway. “When I am still, I hear a tiny voice inside me that promises: we are going to be okay.”

Seaside Escape

Bush Hager and her family spent the Fourth of July in 2026 by the water, where they fished, took sunset beach walks and watched fireworks.

Beach Selfies

Melvin snapped a photo with his wife while walking along the beach in South Carolina during their summer 2026 family vacation.

“A few snapshots from days well spent in SC with my favorite people,” he wrote on Instagram. “Filled with beach days, good food, loud talking, spades playing, movie watching, mediocre golf, plenty of laughs, and a whole lot of family time. Always the best time of the year.”

Kotb spent the Fourth of July in 2026 by the ocean with her mom, Sameha Kotb, and her daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine. The holiday included fireworks, plus a lemonade stand hosted by Haley and Hope.
