The 1% Club Contestant Makes Show History With £100,000 Jackpot Win After Solving Final Puzzle
A university student from Liverpool has made history on The 1% Club Rollover after correctly answering the show’s notoriously difficult 1% question to claim the entire £100,000 jackpot. Lucie Alcock outsmarted three other finalists who all gave incorrect answers, leaving host Lee Mack astonished and many viewers at home struggling to understand the solution.
Her victory marked a rare achievement for the ITV quiz show, with Lucie becoming only the second contestant to win the full £100,000 prize. The previous winner was Clarke Carlisle, who accomplished the feat during a celebrity special.

Lucie Alcock takes home the full £100,000 prize
Lucie, a university student from Liverpool, appeared surprised to have progressed all the way to the final question. Earlier in the episode, she told Lee Mack that watching the programme with her boyfriend had become part of their university routine.
The couple had both applied to appear on the show, but Lucie was the only one chosen to compete.
“We both applied but I’m the only one who got on, so I’m trying to, like, win something for us both,” she explained.
Despite her hopes of winning something for them both, Lucie admitted during the 15% question that she had not expected to make it so far in the competition.
As the game reached its climax, every contestant had used up their passes, meaning the entire £100,000 jackpot was available to be won.
Four finalists faced the decisive challenge, but three failed to identify the correct answer. Lucie, however, cracked the puzzle and secured the full prize.
Can you solve The 1% Club’s final question?

The last challenge required contestants to identify the missing letter in this sequence:
ANGLE RE GON ?
The correct answer was N, but getting there meant spotting the connection between the sequence and the names of geometric shapes.
The letters represented Triangle, Square, Pentagon and Hexagon, with parts of each shape’s name removed. The pattern involved removing a number of letters from the beginning of each name corresponding to the number of sides the shape has.
Recognising the underlying rule was the key to finding the missing letter and completing the sequence for Hexagon.
While the other three finalists failed to solve the question, Lucie found the answer and made television quiz-show history by claiming the entire jackpot.
Lee Mack’s reaction to Lucie’s remarkable win

Following the reveal, host Lee Mack wanted to know how quickly Lucie had worked out the solution.
“I have to ask, Lucie, how long did it take you to get that?” he asked.
Still taking in what had happened, Lucie giggled before replying: “About half the time.”
She then added an astonished: “Oh, my god”.
Her reaction reflected the scale of the achievement. Winning the entire £100,000 jackpot is an exceptionally rare feat on The 1% Club, and Lucie joined Clarke Carlisle as the only contestants to have done so.
Carlisle had previously won the full amount during a celebrity special, making Lucie’s victory particularly significant.
Viewers quickly took to X to celebrate the result. One fan highlighted just how unusual the achievement was, writing: “Only once before has the full £100k has been won & that was in a celebrity special well before the rollover became a thing. Tonight, Lucie has scooped the whole shebang. And she will be back tomorrow along with the other 4 finalists. #The1PercentClub”.
Viewers admit they struggled with the final puzzle
Although Lucie managed to find the answer, the final question left many people watching at home scratching their heads.
One viewer admitted on X: “I might have got it, in 30 days but not 30 seconds.”
Another was equally bewildered, commenting: “That was so random. How the hell did she get that.”
The reactions underlined just how challenging the final question had been, even for viewers who could take their time to examine the sequence.
What is The 1% Club Rollover?

The 1% Club Rollover is a spin-off of ITV’s popular quiz show, presented by Lee Mack. Unlike the standard format, contestants who reach the 1% question have the opportunity to return the following day and continue competing for a larger prize.
The special is running throughout the week, with contestants given the chance to win as much as £500,000.
Lucie’s £100,000 triumph was a standout moment in the competition, demonstrating how one correct answer at the crucial moment can make all the difference.
While other contestants will continue to face the programme’s demanding tests of logic and reasoning, Lucie has already secured her place in The 1% Club history.
