‘They Are Playing Games!’ Meghan Markle Is Savaged Over Her Reported UK ‘Worry’ As Critics Dismiss The Concern As ‘Nonsense’—And Accuse The Sussexes Of Turning Their British Return Into Another Controversy

Meghan Markle’s Reported School-Run Fears Dismissed as ‘Nonsense’ After Sussex Family Returns to Britain

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle’s reported concerns about taking Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to school in Britain have been sharply dismissed by a royal commentator, who argues that fears of being surrounded by photographers do not reflect how the system currently works.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are approaching the end of their first week back in the UK after arriving with their children on August 26. The family is reportedly staying in a rented, non-royal property outside London while Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, prepare for school.

But Meghan’s previously expressed worries about the British school run have resurfaced following the family’s return — prompting royal author Robert Jobson to describe the concern as “nonsense.”

Meghan previously explained why the school run worried her

Archie and Lilibet with Harry

The issue dates back to Meghan’s 2022 interview with The Cut, conducted two years after she and Harry relocated to California.

Speaking to journalist Allison P. Davis, Meghan discussed the freedom she felt she had in the United States when taking Archie to school.

She indicated that she feared doing the same thing in Britain could expose her and her son to intense media attention and paparazzi.

Now that the Sussex family has returned to the UK and Archie and Lilibet are expected to begin attending school here, those comments have attracted fresh attention.

However, Jobson strongly disputes the idea that photographers would simply be permitted to gather around the family during the daily school run.

Robert Jobson calls the concern ‘nonsense’

Discussing the situation on TalkTV, Jobson argued that established arrangements governing media coverage would prevent the scenario Meghan reportedly fears.

“This is nonsense because there are self-governing rules here, and there’s no way that there could be loads of paparazzi there,” he said.

Jobson suggested Meghan’s perception of the situation could have been influenced by Harry’s memories of growing up under extraordinary media attention.

“This nonsense, and it is nonsense, is based upon, maybe, stuff that Harry told her about when he was a kid,” he claimed.

Harry’s relationship with the British press has been a recurring theme throughout his adult life, and concerns over security and media intrusion have played a prominent role in his public explanations for stepping back from royal duties.

But Jobson argues that the circumstances surrounding royal children attending school today are very different.

William and Catherine’s children are rarely photographed at school

To support his argument, Jobson pointed toward the experience of Prince William and Princess Catherine.

Their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — have attended school without photographers routinely documenting their parents dropping them off or collecting them.

There have been organized opportunities for photographs at important milestones, most notably a child’s first day.

Beyond those controlled moments, however, the Wales family’s ordinary school routine has largely remained private.

Jobson therefore rejected the suggestion that Meghan should expect photographers to be waiting outside the school every day.

He also connected the discussion to Harry’s longstanding concerns about security.

The school-run debate comes amid Harry’s security dispute

Jobson suggested Harry was already familiar with the security situation he would face before deciding to bring his family back to Britain.

“Look, he knew about the score before he came here, about the security,” he said.

Harry’s security arrangements have been one of the most contentious issues surrounding his relationship with the UK since he and Meghan stepped away as working royals.

The couple’s return with Archie and Lilibet has inevitably brought those concerns back into focus, particularly now that the children could have a more regular public life in Britain.

Jobson accused the Sussexes of potentially turning the school-run issue into another part of that wider debate, although there has been no indication in the supplied report that Meghan herself has publicly renewed her 2022 comments since returning to the UK.

Her concerns therefore remain based on her earlier remarks and subsequent reports about how she may feel now.

Harry and Meghan arrived with Archie and Lilibet on August 26

The Sussex family arrived at Birmingham Airport on August 26, beginning what represents a major change after years of living primarily in California.

They are reportedly residing in a rented property outside London, although the precise location has not been publicly disclosed.

The family’s immediate attention is said to be focused on helping Archie and Lilibet adjust to their new surroundings.

According to reports, getting the children comfortable in their new home has taken priority over rushing them immediately into their new school routine.

The New York Post reported that Harry and Meghan want to create “a nurturing atmosphere” for their children as they settle into life in Britain.

Archie and Lilibet face a significant adjustment

The move represents a considerable change for both children.

Archie and Lilibet have spent much of their childhood in California, away from the day-to-day environment surrounding the Royal Family in Britain.

Starting school in the UK will therefore be about more than simply entering new classrooms.

They will be adapting to another home and a different routine while inevitably attracting interest because of their position within one of the world’s most famous families.

For Harry and Meghan, protecting their children’s privacy while allowing them to experience an ordinary school life could become one of the most delicate parts of establishing themselves in Britain again.

Meghan’s old comments now face a very different test

When Meghan spoke about the school run in 2022, the Sussexes had already established their life in California and a full-time return to Britain did not appear imminent.

Four years later, the circumstances described in those remarks are suddenly much more relevant.

The family is back.

Archie and Lilibet are preparing for school.

And questions about privacy, press attention and security are once again following Harry and Meghan.

Jobson insists the fears surrounding paparazzi at the school gates are misplaced, pointing to the privacy routinely afforded to William and Catherine’s children.

Whether Meghan herself remains as concerned as she was in 2022 is less clear.

For now, the Sussexes appear focused on something considerably more immediate: giving Archie and Lilibet enough stability to settle into their new British life before their next chapter properly begins.
