Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be preparing to settle into a celebrity-owned property when they return to Britain, according to new reports that also claim the couple quietly visited the Cotswolds while making plans for their move.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to return to the UK later this month and establish themselves in a non-royal home outside London. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are also reportedly enrolled in British schools and are due to begin classes in early September.
However, some of the latest claims surrounding the family’s preparations — including a reported secret visit to the Cotswolds and Meghan privately touring two schools — have not been independently verified.
Harry and Meghan Reportedly Visited the Cotswolds in July

According to reports, the Sussexes made a private trip to the Cotswolds in July as they explored possible arrangements for their return to Britain.
The couple could eventually live in a property owned by a celebrity, although the identity of the owner and the exact location have not been confirmed.
The Daily Mail also reported, citing a source, that Meghan privately visited two schools during the trip.
Archie and Lilibet are expected to attend school in the UK from September, although British media organisations have been instructed by the press regulator not to identify either the children’s school or the family’s new residence.
There are also not expected to be the traditional photographs of Archie and Lilibet starting school or marking their birthdays that are sometimes released for children of working royals.
Sussexes Will Remain Non-Working Royals

Despite their return to Britain, Harry and Meghan’s official position is not expected to change.
They will continue to live as private individuals and non-working members of the Royal Family, with no return to the “half-in, half-out” arrangement previously discussed around the time of their departure from royal duties.
The couple stepped back as senior working royals during the Megxit crisis in 2020 before establishing a new life in the United States.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace issued a statement about the latest reports concerning their move.
King Charles Was Reportedly Told Days Before News Became Public

King Charles is understood to have been informed of the Sussexes’ plans on Sunday, three days before the move became public.
The King, who continues to live with cancer, is reportedly pleased by the prospect of seeing more of Harry, Meghan and their children in a private family capacity.
That does not mean Harry will resume an official royal role.
The relationship between Harry and Prince William also remains strained.
William has been estranged from his younger brother following years of public accusations and disclosures involving the Prince and Princess of Wales, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
There has been no indication that the reported move will immediately change that relationship.
Privacy Around Archie and Lilibet Will Remain a Priority
Although Harry and Meghan are returning to Britain, their children are expected to remain largely outside the public-facing traditions associated with working members of the Royal Family.
The location of their school is not expected to be published, and the family’s home address will also remain private.
That approach reflects the couple’s status outside the working monarchy and their longstanding emphasis on keeping Archie and Lilibet away from regular media attention.
Reports that Meghan visited potential schools privately in July have attracted particular attention because of the family’s previous concerns about security and privacy in the UK, although those claims have yet to be independently confirmed.
Harry Avoids Discussing UK Plans During Washington Appearance
Harry made a public appearance in Washington on Wednesday, only hours after news of his planned return to Britain emerged.
The Duke did not discuss the move while addressing US veterans and defence officials at an event organised by The Independence Fund, which supports severely wounded veterans.
Instead, Harry focused on the contribution of former service members.
“The world needs more heroes,” he told attendees.
He added: “It’s not about creating more heroes because they already live among us. It’s about being able to really value their expertise, their experiences.”
For now, many of the practical details surrounding Harry and Meghan’s UK life — including exactly where they will live — remain undisclosed.
What has been reported is that they intend to establish themselves outside London, keep their non-working royal status unchanged and begin a new chapter in Britain with Archie and Lilibet attending school there.
