Reba McEntire is celebrating her grandson on the way!
The 71-year-old country legend’s son, Shelby McEntire Blackstock, is expecting his first baby, a boy, with his wife, Marissa. Over the weekend, the couple revealed the name they have selected for the little one while sharing snaps from their music-themed baby shower on Instagram Stories.
McEntire’s grandson will be named Archer “Archie” Blackstock, according to photos of the “Welcome to the World” Tour-themed event, Country Now reported on Monday, July 13.
“Vinyl Vault Presents: Archer Blackstock,” a marquee-like sign at the shower reads, with a faux quote from Rolling Stone declaring the little one’s birth “the hottest new release of the year,” according to photos shared by the outlet.

The sign also stated that the “tour” will take place in October, which is when Shelby, whom McEntire shares with ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, and his wife previously announced as the month that the baby is due. (McEntire is now engaged to Rex Linn.)
Another photo of decor from the music-themed shower shows a record plaque designed with the little one’s initials, “AB.” The plaque, which reads, “Archie Blackstock: A Star is Born 2026,” was seemingly signed by party guests — including a note from the “Fancy” singer.
“We’re gonna have so much fun!” the singer wrote to her grandson on the way, per Country Now, before signing off the note as “Grandma Reba.”
Marissa later thanked baby shower guests with a heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories while revealing a personal hardship she has been experiencing on Tuesday, July 14.

“Today I’m feeling incredibly lucky,” the expectant mother wrote over a plain background on Instagram Stories. “For those who don’t know, I lost the man who raised me, my stepdad Claude, last Monday. Then just a few days later, we celebrated our baby shower for Shelby Archer.”
“By Saturday, I was running on fumes, trying to hold grief and joy at the same time. But our village carried us,” she continued in the message. “To everyone who came, and even those who couldn’t but reached out with love- thank you. Sitting in Archie’s nursery, surrounded wall-to-wall by all the thoughtful gifts, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. We are so incredibly blessed.”
Shelby and Marissa first announced that they were expecting baby Archie on Instagram in April.
“Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October,” the mom-to-be wrote alongside photos of the couple at Disney World, where they tied the knot in 2022. “See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! 🤟🏼.”

Like the little one’s baby shower, the pregnancy announcement also included themed decor, including a onesie embroidered with a sleeping Mickey Mouse and “Blackstock, October 2026” in blue lettering and a blue-and-white cake bearing Mickey’s signature “Oh boy!” catchphrase.
The announcement came after Marissa documented her in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey on social media.
Shelby’s son will be McEntire’s first biological grandchild. McEntire is stepmother to the late Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson‘s ex-husband, who died in August 2025, years after being diagnosed with melanoma. Clarkson and Brandon share daughter River, 11, and son Remy, 10.
