One moment during the 2025 CMA Awards has some fans raising eyebrows.

“CMA’s… y’all are MESSY!!” one social media user posted via TikTok on Wednesday, November 19, sharing a video of Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley announcing the Single of the Year winners.

Ella Langley and Riley Green took home the award for their song “You Look Like You Love Me.” The musicians side-hugged as they headed on stage to accept their award. Green, 37, took Langley’s hand as they walked up the stairs, and the camera panned to fellow singer Megan Moroney.

While some country music fans declared that “the camera operator knew what they were doing,” others were a bit confused.

Rumors swirled for months that Green was the center of a love triangle with Moroney, 28, and Langley, 26. But there are still questions about what — if anything — really went down.

When Green and Langley released their duet in June 2024, fans immediately linked the singers together romantically. However, they were quick to deny any dating rumors.

“Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” Langley said during a September 2024 interview with Taste of Country at the People’s Choice Country Awards. “He was playing all the same bars I went to, and I played the same bars as him. It’s cool to see Alabama people winning.”

She added, “We’re not dating. We’re just good friends.”

Green shared a similar sentiment a few months later.

“Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” he said during a December 2024 appearance on the “Viall Files” podcast, noting that fans of the genre want a good love story. “When we first started having the success we did with that song, I kinda told Ella, I was like, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but I mean, you don’t really have to play into it or not play into it, it’s gonna be something people enjoy the same way we do when we go listen to those songs.'”

Around the same time romance rumors started swirling around Langley and Green, Moroney entered the chat. The “Am I Okay?” singer has been romantically linked to Green since late last year when they appeared to be posting on social media from the same vacation. Neither Green nor Moroney has addressed the rumors.

Green confirmed in March that he was “single” when asked about his dating life on the “In the Blind” podcast.

As for the two female singers, Langley appeared to shut down any drama between her and Moroney with a simple TikTok comment.

“PERSONALLY don’t think there’s any beef i think it’s everyone playing into the money of a narrative,” a TikTok user captioned a June video about the rumored drama. “BUT i love both ladies dearly — don’t think anything serious be going on between either of them and a MAN. sue me. whatever sells.”

Langley commented, “Slay.”

Moroney, for her part, has stayed pretty quiet, but she did say in March that “now is not the time” for dating amid her success.

“I could not imagine going through the past year if I was upset and crying over a dude,” she said during an interview with Rolling Stone at the time. “I really don’t have time for it right now.”
