Who needs a wedding planner when you’ve got Dolly Parton?
According to a source, the sparkle-loving star, 80, is helping pal Reba McEntire map out her upcoming vow swap with fiancé Rex Linn as she recovers from a series of health challenges.
“Dolly is thrilled to have something to take her mind off her troubles,” the source tells Examiner. “Being stuck at home while she’s recuperating has been very hard because she’s just not used to sitting still for this long.”

In May, the bride-to-be, 71, told Extra she and her Happy’s Place costar, 69, have been envisioning tying the knot during a “low-key” ceremony, surrounded by “lots of friends and family.”
“But when Dolly is involved it’s hard to keep anything low-key,” notes the source. “She’s encouraging Reba to make this a big wedding — Dolly loves the idea of throwing a huge party!”

The country music icon and beloved husband Carl Dean were forced to elope by her record label when they got hitched back in May 1966, and she admitted to People in 2018 that the nuptials weren’t what she “really wanted.”
They later renewed their vows — with Parton finally wearing her dream dress — in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, per the outlet.
Less than a decade would pass before her ultra-private spouse died in March 2025 at age 82.
“She’s still grieving the loss of her husband, so you’d think the last thing Dolly would want to do is help plan a wedding, but she says celebrating Reba and Rex’s love has actually lifted her spirits,” adds Examiner‘s source. “Dolly’s having fun throwing out ideas.”
While two-time divorcée McEntire “doesn’t agree with every suggestion,” says the source, “she appreciates that Dolly’s being so supportive. This has brought the two of them even closer.”
