Locations from the Netflix film include a luxurious resort you could book for a trip

The Ted Lasso star’s new Netflix romantic comedy film takes advantage of several real life locations you could actually visit.

Office Romance landed on the streaming platform yesterday (June 5) and is already proving popular with subscribers. It was co-written and stars comedian and actor Brett Goldstein, who is known for playing Roy Kent in the Apple TV sitcom.

Now he is featuring alongside pop sensation Jennifer Lopez as the pair lead what is described as a raunchy romantic comedy. The story follows two workaholics who get in trouble when they start thinking with their hearts.

Lopez plays Jackie, a President and CEO of an airline who runs a tight ship in her business, including a rigid anti-fraternization policy for all her employees. When a sexy new lawyer played by Goldstein, begins working for her, that policy becomes well-tested.

The film includes scenes set in fancy corporate offices and a luxurious getaway destination among others. The production took advantage of several real life locations which fans could potentially visit themselves should they wish.

According to Time Out, a lot of filming took place in and around New Jersey. Many exterior scenes including the couple’s hot chocolate date and Jackie receiving legal advice at a food truck were filmed around Hoboken. Crews were spotted along the waterfront downtown during filming in April 2025.

The is on the Hudson River and sits opposite New York City’s Manhattan. Daniel’s apartment were filmed at Cliffs Lofts building. Meanwhile, Air Cruz offices were filmed in Kenilworth, New Jersey.

The building that apparently houses the company, is in real life the Northeast Science and Technology Center, which in reality houses world class laboratories. As for Jackie’s home, that can be found in New Jersey too, specifically Montclair.

Meanwhile, the work retreat actually took the filming to the Dominican Republic. The pair’s neighbouring villas can be found at the Cayo Levantado Resort on the coast of Samana. According to Trivago, prices start at around £650 a night.

Those actually taking a trip there will be able to find villas and suites that include a personal butler service, all-inclusive dining, private beaches and excursions such as whale watching and wellness retreats.

A number of scenes include Daniel visiting his sister behind bars. A real life prison was used for these moments with the outside of East Jersey State Prison stepping in for these moments. This prison was actually previously used as a location for blockbuster heist thriller Ocean’s Eleven.
