In an exciting announcement made on Netflix’s Tudum, fans learned that Little House on the Prairie had been renewed for season 2 right before the first installment premiered.
“I’m incredibly grateful to our wonderful cast and crew, who put their hearts and hard work into making our first season come alive,” showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine said in an official statement. “We can’t wait to share this new adaptation of the Little House books with the world, and we’re thrilled that Netflix is giving us the opportunity to continue the story.”

Smart and supremely confident, sharp-tongued but easily wounded, Nellie is full of contradictions,” Netflix shared, per People. “One thing is certain: She lives and breathes to make Laura miserable.”
- Charlotte Sullivan is set to play Nellie’s mother, the outspoken Margaret Oleson. “Beautiful, high-energy, charming, unfiltered, fun and funny, with a quick wit and gallows humor, Margaret adores her daughter fiercely and completely, but also fears losing her love,” Deadline writes about the character.
- Rachelle Lefevre will portray Eva Beadle, the schoolteacher in Walnut Grove, who is well-beloved by both Laura and Mary. The same Deadline article above also notes that as someone who is “open-minded, passionate, forthright and brave, Eva is well-educated, well-read, adventurous, generous of spirit, a world-traveler.”
