Love Island host Maya Jama could be set to replace Emma Willis on The Voice UK after it has emerged that she has been in secret talks with ITV bosses for the role.

Maya Jama is reportedly in secret talks with ITV bosses to replace Emma Willis as the host for The Voice UK.
According to reports, the Love Island presenter, 31, has been in advanced talks with the broadcaster following a series of meetings about the coveted position. She has reportedly been offered the position but is yet to accept.
The Mirror contacted ITV for a comment and a spokesman said: “As with each new series, we are in discussions about talent for The Voice series 15. Any announcement will be made in due course.”

It has been reported that if Maya, who recently split with Manchester City player Ruben Dias in May, accepts the position, this will be her second primetime show since Walk The Line in 2002 which was pulled after one series.
However, things may not be completely smooth sailing as it’s also been reported by the publication that ITV may have to play the waiting game as a number of other US TV opportunities have come forward.
A source told The Sun: “There have been a lot of approaches to Maya from various networks, including ITV, and shows in the UK and Stateside. The Voice producers and her did have meetings but because of her other commitments the conversation didn’t progress.”
They added: ” Right now, she and her management are evaluating all of the opportunities and planning her next moves.”
Emma has been the main host since she landed the role in 2014. But now, after accepting the hosting position on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, she is bowing out of the ITV show.

Series 15 of the singing competition is set to start filming in the autumn. And along with Emma, McFly stars Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher have also quit the ITV show.
Before landing the role on Strictly, Emma had previously banned her husband Matt from appearing on the BBC show, as by her own admission she is a “jealous” person.
She once said: “”I’m a jealous person. If my husband is around a younger, good-looking woman, I’m like, ‘Stop looking at them’. Matt could do Strictly, because he’s an amazing dancer.”
The mum of three added: “Every now and then he will bust out a pirouette in the middle of the living room and our daughter will be like, ‘Wow, Daddy!’ But I don’t want him grinding against hot women.”
However, if Matt’s recent comments are anything to go by, it seems that a dancing show could play a part in future career opportunities. In 2020 he told the Mirror: ” They’ll be some sort of dancing show in my future, I am sure. Not this year, but it’s a given isn’t it? At some point.”
