Lucho Rodríguez’s unveiling as a new Cruzeiro player produced one awkward moment that had nothing to do with soccer.
At the end of his official presentation, the Uruguayan forward posed for pictures alongside his girlfriend, model and influencer Antonela Ciavaglia. Rodríguez turned toward her looking for a kiss, but Antonela didn’t notice and started walking away, leaving him hanging in front of the cameras.
Lucho could only scratch the back of his neck and try to play it cool.
The clip quickly went viral, but Antonela later explained there was no rejection. She said she was extremely nervous, didn’t realize what Lucho was trying to do and simply wanted to give him space during his big moment. The couple only made their relationship public in July, shortly before Rodríguez was officially introduced as Cruzeiro’s newest signing.
