Prince Harry shares rare update on Archie and Lilibet after family’s return to the U.K.

Prince Harry has offered a rare glimpse into how Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are settling into life in Britain, revealing that his two children are now happy at their new school following the family’s move from California.

The Duke of Sussex, 42, spoke about the family’s return to the U.K. on Friday, September 25, after completing a charity skydive near Toronto. The jump fulfilled a promise he had made to a 102-year-old World War II veteran and helped raise awareness and support for military charities.

Harry was asked about his family after landing and described the return to Britain positively.

“It’s been great to be back on British soil,” he told CTV, adding with a laugh that it was also “great to be back on terra firma” after his jump.

Archie and Lilibet are settling into school

Harry said that, several weeks into the new term, things were going well for his children.

“The kids are happy in school,” he said, explaining that their settled routine has also allowed him to concentrate more fully on his work with the Invictus Games.

The next Invictus Games are scheduled to take place in Birmingham in July 2027, giving Harry another major commitment in the U.K. after the family’s move.

Harry’s comments come after Archie and Lilibet went through an unexpected school change shortly after arriving in Britain.

Why Harry and Meghan changed their children’s school

Harry and Meghan Markle, along with their children, arrived in England on August 26. Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, began the fall term at a school in the U.K., marking a significant change after the children had previously lived and attended school in California.

However, they remained at the first school for only two days.

The couple subsequently moved Archie and Lilibet to another school following discussions between the family and their security team about the practicalities of the daily journey.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan stressed that the decision was not a criticism of the school or its staff. The couple remained extremely grateful to the teachers and staff for the care they had given their children.

Reports have indicated that the concern centered on the children’s commute rather than the school itself. Heavy traffic and the distance between the family’s home and the school made it more difficult for their security team to manage the journey.

According to reporting from ITV, security staff were particularly concerned about the possibility of the family’s vehicles becoming stuck in stationary traffic during the regular school run.

The family’s spokesperson said the school change followed discussions about their security arrangements and emphasized that Archie and Lilibet’s adjustment remained the couple’s priority.
