“My body is shaking and I can barely move” Sophie Cunningham sparks panic among fans after sudden health scare that began as a normal night and quickly turned into something far more serious

Sophie Cunningham, known for keeping fans updated, shared a troubling Instagram story Saturday revealing she was battling severe food poisoning, leaving her struggling to move and seeking help.

A day earlier, Cunningham enjoyed drinks with her sister, Lindsey, but her condition worsened quickly. The Indiana Fever free agent then reached out online for urgent support, alarming her millions of followers.

“Had food poisoning all night,” Cunningham wrote. “Can’t keep anything down now. Trying to fly home. Body is shaking and can barely move. HELP.” Her message showed the intensity of her struggle.

Food safety tips

Food safety starts with hygiene. Wash hands before and after handling raw meat, seafood, poultry, or eggs. Clean utensils and surfaces to prevent cross-contamination between raw and cooked items.

Cook all food to safe internal temperatures: 165°F for poultry, 160°F for ground meat, and 145°F for seafood. Use a thermometer to ensure harmful bacteria are destroyed effectively.

Store perishable foods below 40°F in the refrigerator and freeze leftovers promptly. Avoid leaving cooked food at room temperature for over two hours or one hour if it’s above 90°F.

Avoid high-risk foods like raw eggs, unpasteurized dairy, and raw seafood. Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, even if pre-washed, and discard anything with unusual odor, texture, or color.

If food poisoning occurs, hydrate with water or oral rehydration solutions. Rest and avoid solid foods until symptoms subside. Seek medical attention for high fever, persistent vomiting, severe diarrhea, blood in stool, or signs of dehydration.

Cunningham‘s transparency reminds fans to prioritize health. Even amid recovery and professional obligations, being aware of food safety and acting quickly when illness strikes is crucial for athletes and the public alike.

Could Sophie Cunningham join OnlyFans?

Cunningham‘s 2025 season ended in August after a right MCL tear against the Connecticut Sun when Bria Hartley fell on her before she spent months recovering but cheered on her team during playoffs with a knee brace.

Off the court, fans saw the WNBA star caddying with Lexie Hull at The Annika golf tournament in November. By December, she resumed brand endorsements, including an Adidas shoot for the Purchills and her youth basketball classic.

But casual comment from Cunningham sparked renewed debate over WNBA salaries, financial security, and why even top players feel underpaid, highlighting frustrations beyond her single interview clip.

During an appearance on Caleb Pressley‘s show, she was asked about her finances as a free agent, and the 29-year-old admitted she was “barely” being paid, amid discussions of WNBA compensation.

Pressley joked about a backup plan if the WNBA didn’t provide enough income. Cunningham responded, “Not Plan B. Project B,” a line that triggered speculation about personal income options online.

The conversation then turned to OnlyFans, a platform increasingly referenced for athlete income – and although Cunningham did not announce plans to join, emphasizing instead the importance of leagues like the WNBA in building a fanbase.

She acknowledged that OnlyFans could work independently, but stressed that organised sports help athletes create long-term value, offering opportunities they couldn’t achieve on individual platforms alone.
