Ken Jennings resurfaces in Sweden during extended break from Jeopardy! hosting duties
TV STAR and Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings has shared a snap from the latest location of his summer vacation.
The TV presenter posted a photo on Instagram from his recent travels and thrilled fans with some pop memorabilia.
Standing casually in front of a Swedish flag, he told fans: “Now in Sweden, where every arriving tourist is issued a very special bar of soap.”
The second image he shared was of a vintage ABBA novelty soap bar, first released in 1978.
Inside the box is a cassette-shaped bar of soap molded with the official ABBA logo across the side.
Fans joked: “Before they gave it to you, did you have to say Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie.”
A second offered: “Soaper troaper.”
A third noted: “Sudsing me, sudsing you.”
The former software engineer – who has appeared on multiple game shows over the years – is on a break from his hosting duties which wrapped up last month.
He’s set to start filming again later in September.
Ken, who previously won 74 consecutive Jeopardy! games, is the full-time host of the series.
The quiz guru holds the record for the highest average number of correct responses per game in Jeopardy! history.
The former contestant was finally defeated during his 75th appearance in the series, earning nearly $5 million in winnings.
Former Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died in November 2020 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
After a series of guest hosts, officials announced that producer Mike Richards and actress Mayim Bialik would be taking over as co-hosts.
However in August 2021, Richards resigned and Jennings was announced as his replacement, having previously hosted the shows as a guest.
Jennings split hosting duties with Mayim until season 39.
After the show’s summer 2023 hiatus, it was revealed that Jennings would take over as the permanent host for season 40.
Jennings will return as host once more for Celebrity Jeopardy! – but it won’t be kicking off this Fall as previously hoped.
New listings from ABC have confirmed that it won’t be airing any brand new episodes until 2027.
The fifth series of the show was originally expected to begin airing much earlier after being unveiled as part of ABC’s parent company’s Disney upfronts in 2027.
ABC have pushed back the premiere date for one of its most popular shows.
Network bosses have confirmed that the program won’t be debuting as originally planned.
