Big Brother winner Rick Devens’ wife announces breast cancer diagnosis: ‘Send good vibes and prayers’
“Rick won ‘Big Brother’ and then we came home and I got diagnosed with breast cancer.”
Rick Devens/InstagramBig Brother winner Rick Devens joined his wife, Becca Devens, to announce that she was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after he won the reality TV show’s latest season earlier this year.
In a new video shared to Instagram late Sunday (below), Rick and Becca sat with their dog as they revealed Becca’s diagnosis, which they referred to as “plot twist” in the video’s caption.
“We just wanted to let you know some important news, because it would be weird if we didn’t tell you before I had to go have surgery,” Becca said in the clip. “Rick won Big Brother, and then we came home and I got diagnosed with breast cancer.”
The couple maintained a lighthearted attitude throughout the video, with Becca adding: “So, that sucks. But, we caught it early because I do my mammograms like a good girl, and I’m going to get a double mastectomy. And that will be fun, but, because we caught it early, we think that’s all we have to do, which is great, and we’ll keep people posted.”
While she sat next to her Survivor alum spouse, Becca added that she has an MRI scheduled for Tuesday, and that “after that, I’ll know for sure [the cancer] is where we think it is” to allow for more targeted treatment.
“Send good vibes and prayers,” Becca added to the couple’s followers.
The pair, who married in 2012 after meeting in 2010, indicated that their two “kids are doing good,” and that “everybody’s okay” as Becca maps out her treatment.
Rick cut in to ask the couple’s followers to “send her good vibes” as she navigates the breast cancer diagnosis.
In the comments under the post, Rick added, “Thank you all for the love! Becca’s got this. Luckily she’s the tough one. Also, the funny, charming, smart, good looking one.”

Devens’ fellow Survivor and Big Brother star Dee Valladares wished the couple well in the comments section, writing, “God blessed Rick recently and he’s about to bless you with a quick recovery. We love you Becca,” as did Big Brother competitor Taylor Brown, who wrote, “Sending love and prayers Ms. Becca.”
Hollywood director James Gunn — known for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy, Superman, and beyond — also shared a message of support for the couple after they posted the clip.
“So much love for you guys right now,” Gunn wrote, followed by a series of heart-shaped emojis.
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to the couple for more information on Becca’s cancer diagnosis and her upcoming treatment.
