Riley Green Shows Off Massive Bull Elk After Utah Bowhunting Trip — ‘Freezer Is Full’
Riley Green traded the concert stage for the mountains and returned from his latest outdoor adventure with something impressive to show for it.
The Alabama country singer recently traveled to Utah for a bowhunting trip, setting his sights on a massive bull elk while enjoying a few days away in the mountains.
And judging by the photos and video Green shared afterward, the trip couldn’t have gone much better.
After tracking the animal through the rugged landscape and managing to get within bow range, Green successfully harvested the bull using his compound bow.
His summary afterward was short and to the point:
“Freezer is full.”

Hunting Has Always Been Part of Riley Green’s Life
Green’s passion for hunting and the outdoors is hardly a secret to longtime fans.
The country star frequently shares glimpses of his time outdoors, and that side of his life has even made its way into his Nashville business.
His bar, Riley Green’s Duck Blind, takes its name directly from his love of hunting.
So when Green had the opportunity to spend several days chasing elk through the Utah mountains, it offered a very different setting from the packed touring schedule surrounding the “Worst Way” singer.
Photos and video from the trip showed the striking mountain scenery Green and his hunting party encountered while searching for the bull.
But this wasn’t simply a sightseeing getaway.
Getting Close Enough Was the Real Challenge

Bowhunting an elk requires a hunter to get significantly closer than many firearm hunts.
Elk can detect potential danger from considerable distances, making the process of approaching within effective compound-bow range particularly demanding.
Green and his group tracked the animal through the mountains before he eventually managed to move close enough for a shot.
The result was the enormous bull featured in his social media post.
Green expressed gratitude not only for the successful hunt but also for the opportunity to spend several days in the Utah wilderness pursuing the animal.
Utah’s Elk Hunts Are Carefully Managed
Utah is home to tens of thousands of elk, with state wildlife officials managing populations to maintain sustainable numbers.
Hunters must obtain the appropriate tags to participate, with prices varying depending on factors including whether someone is a Utah resident or an out-of-state hunter.
That regulated system means hunting plays a role in the state’s broader wildlife-management efforts.
For Green, however, the trip also reflected something much more personal — a lifelong connection to the outdoors that has remained part of his identity even as his country music career has grown.
From Sold-Out Shows to the Utah Mountains
The adventure came during a busy period for Green, who continues to balance a packed performance schedule with the outdoor pursuits he has enjoyed long before becoming a country star.
This time, a few days away resulted in mountain views, time with his hunting party and a successful bow hunt that ensured he wouldn’t be returning home empty-handed.
Green seemed more than satisfied with the experience.
After days spent tracking a massive bull through the Utah mountains, Riley Green finally got close enough to make his shot count — leaving the country star grateful for the adventure and able to deliver the only hunting update he really needed: “Freezer is full.”
