Rex Linn never passes up an opportunity to gush over his bride-to-be, Reba McEntire.
On June 26, the actor paid tribute to his Happy’s Place co-star and future wife with a sweet Instagram post revealing how much he enjoys working with her on the hit NBC sitcom.
“Simple fact: I LOVE working with Tater Tot,” Linn captioned his post, using his beloved nickname for his fiancée, going on to remind his followers that both seasons of Happy’s Place are currently streaming on Peacock.
“Are y’all caught up on #Happy’sPlace? You can stream all episodes on @peacock if you aren’t!” he added alongside a throwback Happy’s Place clip from early in the show’s first season.

The stars have been engaged since December 2024, and this past April, Linn revealed during an interview with Extra that although he and McEntire haven’t set a wedding date yet, they’re “having a blast enjoying the engagement” stage of their relationship right now.

Rex Linn shared a wholesome scene he filmed with Reba McEntire in Happy’s Place Season 1

The clip that Linn shared on Instagram was a scene from Season 1, Episode 4 (“Fish Fry Monday”), which featured Bobbie and Emmett having a heart-to-heart inside a cabin after Emmett was conspicuously absent from Bobbie’s father’s funeral.
“I looked everywhere for your big old melon head, Emmett,” Bobbie scolded her coworker. “And you were nowhere to be found.”
As it turned out, Emmett paid tribute in his own heart-wrenching way — in private.
“This is where I had my memorial service for Happy,” he revealed. “I put on his favorite Willie Nelson tape, helped myself to one of the 200 beers he’s got in here, sat in this chair across from his chair, where he sat all the time, and I thought about my friend. How much I miss him.”
“I guess you do talk when you got something to say,” Bobbie said sweetly.
Emmett’s openness around Bobbie in this scene served as a precursor to the romantic chemistry they would exhibit later in the series’ run. It’s because of moments like these that Bobbie was able to see the “real,” more vulnerable side of Emmett.
The scene from “Fish Fry Monday” was included in NBC’s “Bobbie and Emmett’s Best Moments” Happy’s Place compilation video that fans can watch here. It’s a moment that helped define their friendship-turned-relationship, even if things didn’t work out the way fans may have wanted between the two characters by the time Season 2 ended.

Not only is the third season of Happy’s Place coming to NBC this fall, but the show has an official Season 3 premiere date: Friday, October 23 at 8 p.m. ET. As always, new episodes will be available on Peacock the following day.
