Meghan Has Barely Settled Into The Cotswolds—But One Neighbour Is Already Betting She’ll Be Back In California By Winter! And It’s One Thing About Her Montecito Lifestyle He Thinks She’ll Miss Most

Meghan Markle’s Cotswolds Move Sparks Fresh Prediction — Royal Correspondent Says She Could Be ‘Nipping Back’ To California

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have returned to Britain as a family, but a royal correspondent has suggested the Duchess of Sussex could still be spending plenty of time back in California — particularly once winter arrives in the Cotswolds.

TalkTV presenter Duncan Barkes discussed the Sussexes’ future with royal correspondent Rupert Bell, who lives around 10 miles from their reported Cotswolds home. Bell offered a very different picture of what life could look like for Meghan as the family settles into Britain.

“She’s still got As Ever,” Rupert explained. “It’s an American brand. They have launched apple butter. There is going to be a white wine being launched soon. I think she will be nipping back to America more often than not.”

Rumors swirl around Harry and Meghan's potential move to the Cotswolds

His comments came after King Charles reaffirmed the Sussexes’ position as non-working royals following their return to Britain. Their charitable and commercial activities will continue privately, in line with the arrangements agreed when Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

There has also been renewed speculation around Meghan’s future career. In August, rumours circulated that she was in talks to join Netflix’s The White Lotus for a potential third season, although reports later claimed the idea had been dropped following backlash. Lead star Theo James dismissed the claims as “hot air”.

For Bell, however, Meghan’s existing business commitments could provide a reason for regular trips across the Atlantic.

‘She’s Not Going To Be Happy’

Meghan Markle demands 9 bedrooms for new UK home

Bell, who lives in the north Cotswolds, also painted a decidedly less glamorous picture of the area during the colder months.

“I live in the north Cotswolds and I can tell you it’s lovely at this time of year,” he said. “And if that’s where they have moved to I can assure you from about October 31 it gets dark at 4pm and light at 9am.”

He continued: “She’s not going to be happy. I think she is going to be spending a lot of time in California working on her As Ever brand because if you’re not involved in the local community, lets be honest, the north Cotswolds is not a glamorous location despite what everyone says.”

Bell also compared the reality of the Cotswolds with its much more picturesque Hollywood image, referencing The Holiday, the 2006 film starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet that was filmed partly in the region.

“It may have been lovely when it got Hollywood snow,” he said, before describing the area for the rest of the year as “pretty bleak and miserable”.

Barkes agreed with his assessment, saying: “It’s bleak, it’s muddy and I don’t think Meghan is really equipped for the dark days of November in the north Cotswolds.”

Sussexes Focus On Their Children

Despite the speculation over Meghan’s future travel, the Sussexes are reportedly concentrating on settling their children into their new life in Britain.

Harry and Meghan returned to the UK around two weeks ago after spending six years in the US, with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet said to have started at their new school.

A source said the couple are “happy to be back” in Britain and that helping their children adjust “has been, and remains, their focus”.

The source added that “everything else will fall into place when the time is right”.

That leaves the Sussexes facing a new chapter in Britain, with their children’s adjustment taking priority while Meghan’s business continues to have strong ties to the United States. Whether the Cotswolds becomes a permanent base for the Duchess — or simply one part of a life still divided between Britain and California — remains to be seen.
