Lionel Richie Started Singing His 1986 Classic “Deep River Woman” Then Luke Bryan And Carrie Underwood Joined Him And Turned It Into An ‘American Idol’ Moment Nobody Gets From The Judges’ Table. Three Superstars, Three Distinctive Voices And One Song Nearly Four Decades Old Suddenly Bridged Generations Of Country And Pop.

American Idol is pulling out all the stops for its Season 24 finale, with the three remaining contestants sharing the stage with major artists — and the judges getting in on the action too.

Carrie Underwood is set for one of the night’s most unexpected collaborations, joining forces with Mötley Crüe for a special performance.

Luke Bryan, meanwhile, has two appearances planned. The country star will perform his latest single, “Fish Hunt Golf Drink,” before teaming with former Idol contestant Julián Kalel for a cover of Dwight Yoakam’s “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere.”

Lionel Richie will also perform during the episode, although it will be his only trip to the stage during the finale.

A huge lineup is joining the Idol judges

The finale will extend well beyond the current judging panel.

Brad Paisley, Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms, Cameron Whitcomb, Clay Aiken, En Vogue, Nelly and Shinedown are all scheduled to perform.

That gives the finale a lineup stretching across country, rock, pop, R&B and hip-hop while the competition itself reaches its final stage.

But the most important performances of the evening will come from the three contestants still fighting for the title.

The finalists are getting major duet partners

Hannah Harper will perform alongside Lee Ann Womack as she makes her final push for the American Idol crown.

Jordan McCullough will share the stage with Tori Kelly and former Idol contestant Daniel Stallworth.

Keyla Richardson, meanwhile, will team up with Jason Mraz.

Those collaborations will form part of a crucial night for the finalists as viewers decide who becomes the next American Idol champion.

Alicia Keys will mentor the final three

Alicia Keys is also joining the finale as guest mentor.

She will help guide Hannah, Jordan and Keyla as they prepare for their last performances of the competition.

Keys will then take the stage herself twice.

One performance will feature all three finalists alongside her, while another will see the Grammy-winning artist perform on her own.

America will decide the winner live

While the celebrity lineup provides plenty of spectacle, the final result remains in the hands of viewers.

Voting is open across three methods: social media, the official American Idol voting website and text messaging.

For social voting, viewers can go to the show’s pinned posts on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok and comment the first name of the contestant they want to support.

Text votes can also be submitted by sending each finalist’s corresponding number to 21523.

Fans are allowed to cast up to 10 votes for each finalist through each voting method.

With Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough and Keyla Richardson competing for the title — and a performance lineup ranging from Carrie Underwood and Mötley Crüe to Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley and Nelly — the Season 24 finale is shaping up to be one of the show’s busiest nights of the year.
