Prince Harry warned Meghan Markle about one particular thing once, which left the Duchess of Sussex “baffled”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex gathered a lot of media attention during the early days of their relationship and Meghan was still working as an actress while promoting her own intersts and charity work.
In 2017, Meghan visited India with World Vision, a children’s poverty charity she is ambassador for, to promote gender equality. However, she was warned by her future husband not to take a photo in front of India’s most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal, as he did not want people to think she was copying his mother, Princess Diana, in what was one of her most iconic tours with King Charles in 1992.
Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare: “Do not take a photo in front of the Taj Mahal. She’d asked why and I’d said: My mum. I’d explained that my mother had posed for a photo there, and it had become iconic, and I didn’t want anyone thinking Meg was trying to mimic my mother.
“Meg had never heard of this photo, and found the whole thing baffling, and I loved her for being baffled.”
