Craig Melvin had a sweet message for his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, when she stopped by Studio 1A to talk about her latest project.

Czarniak, an Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster, appeared on the 3rd Hour of TODAY Aug. 3 to promote her new true crime series “Game Day Murders,” which highlights high-profile murder investigations in the sports world.

The couple’s chemistry was evident during the segment. Craig joked that it was “not awkward at all” interviewing his wife, though his body language signaled the opposite.

“You feel funny?” Czarniak asked.

“I do feel funny,” Craig said.

Given Craig’s prior experience on “Dateline,” guest co-host Savannah Sellers asked if he offered his wife any advice while she was prepping to film her new series.

“No,” he replied. “By the way, I give her no tips. I’ve been married for 15 years. No tips.”

“That’s not true!”

“Well,” Craig said.

“I mean, you’re a great sounding board,” Czarniak said.

The journalist went on to say she did discuss the show with Craig.

“I think one thing that I found really eye-opening was the process. We did talk about that a lot because this is my first time being around this type of show. I was so just blown away by the producers and what they do day in and day out, how they get families to talk,” she said.

Craig briefly agreed but seemed keen on keeping the interview going — and his wife called him out on it.

“No? You’re moving on,” she said.

“Well, no, because I want to make sure … c’mon, this isn’t, we don’t have three hours, sweetie,” he said.

“OK, but I just thought you could interject,” Czarniak teased.

“We’re just here,” Savannah joked, suggesting that she and Dylan Dreyer were just flies on the wall of Craig and Czarniak’s playful banter.

During the segment, the TODAY team surprised Czarniak with a message from Shaquille O’Neal, who serves as executive producer on “Game Day Murders.”

Afterwards, Craig shared his own short but sweet praise of his wife’s work.

“I’m proud of you,” he said.

A collective “Aww” was heard from Czarniak, Savannah and Dylan Dreyer at that point. Then, Czarniak teased her husband, saying, “Was that recorded?”

“Oh, I’ll hear about it forever,” Craig joked.

“This was so fun to have you here. I love watching Craig blush,” Dylan said.

Savannah agreed, saying, “I know, it’s really cute.”

Dylan, who was about to fill in as a guest co-host on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, asked Czarniak if she’d stick around for the rest of the 3rd Hour of TODAY in her place.

“No!” Craig joked.

“Yes!” Lindsay replied.

“And I’ll third wheel,” Savannah said.

“When they do the sweetie talk, you will feel like the third wheel,” Dylan joked.
