The 1% Club Contestant Makes Show History With £100,000 Win After Cracking Final Question
A university student from Liverpool has made history on The 1% Club Rollover after answering the show’s toughest question correctly and walking away with the full £100,000 prize. While three other finalists failed to solve the final puzzle, Lucie Alcock managed to find the answer, leaving host Lee Mack amazed and viewers at home struggling to work it out.
The special Rollover edition is a spin-off of ITV’s hit quiz show, hosted by Lee Mack. Contestants who reach the 1% question are given the opportunity to return the following day and continue playing, with the chance to win even more money. The spin-off is running throughout the week, offering contestants the opportunity to win £500,000.
Lucie Alcock wins the full £100,000 jackpot

Lucie, a university student from Liverpool, was visibly surprised to make it all the way to the final question. Earlier in the episode, she told Lee Mack that she regularly watched the show with her boyfriend while they were at university.
The pair had both applied to take part, but Lucie was the only one selected.
“We both applied but I’m the only one who got on, so I’m trying to, like, win something for us both,” she explained.
Despite her eventual success, Lucie admitted during the 15% question that she had not expected to progress so far in the competition.
By the time the game reached its decisive moment, all the contestants’ passes had been used, leaving the entire £100,000 prize up for grabs.
Lucie faced three other finalists, but all three answered the final question incorrectly. Her correct response secured the full jackpot.
Could you solve the show’s 1% question?

The final challenge asked contestants to identify the missing letter in the following sequence:
ANGLE RE GON ?
The answer was the letter N, but the solution required contestants to recognise the pattern hidden in the names of geometric shapes.
The sequence represented Triangle, Square, Pentagon and Hexagon. Each shape’s name was missing a number of letters from its beginning equal to the number of sides the shape has.
The missing letter N therefore completed the pattern for Hexagon.
While the answer proved elusive for the other finalists, Lucie managed to solve the puzzle and claim the historic prize.
Lee Mack stunned by the winning moment

After revealing Lucie’s victory, Lee Mack asked the student how long it had taken her to work out the answer.
“I have to ask, Lucie, how long did it take you to get that?” he said.
Still visibly stunned by her achievement, Lucie giggled and replied: “About half the time,” before adding, “Oh, my god”.
Her victory placed her among an exceptionally small group of contestants to have won the full £100,000 on the show.
Before Lucie, the only other person to claim the entire jackpot was Clarke Carlisle, who achieved the feat during a celebrity special.
The achievement prompted an excited reaction from viewers on X. One fan highlighted the significance of the result, writing: “Only once before has the full £100k has been won & that was in a celebrity special well before the rollover became a thing. Tonight, Lucie has scooped the whole shebang. And she will be back tomorrow along with the other 4 finalists. #The1PercentClub”.
Viewers struggle to find the answer

Although Lucie appeared to work out the solution in time, many viewers watching at home were left baffled by the final puzzle.
One person admitted on X: “I might have got it, in 30 days but not 30 seconds.”
Another viewer was equally surprised, writing: “That was so random. How the hell did she get that.”
Lucie’s win was a standout moment for The 1% Club Rollover, particularly as the special continues throughout the week. With the spin-off offering a chance to win £500,000, contestants still have more opportunities to test their logic and reasoning against the programme’s challenging questions.
But for Lucie, the £100,000 victory had already secured her place in the show’s history.
