Gordon Ramsay’s daughter has offered a glimpse into what her world-famous father is truly like away from the spotlight. A budding chef in her own right, Tilly Ramsay fronted CBBC’s Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch, a cookery-based programme following the Ramsay family’s summer breaks, an experience she described as “very enjoyable”.

Tilly, who also presents Prime Video’s Dish It Out, revealed that growing up as the daughter of one of the planet’s most recognisable chefs meant she “kind of grew up around cameras” — and it appears she was observing Gordon’s on-screen technique. During a recent episode of The Runna Podcast on July 17, the 24-year-old shared her thoughts when quizzed about what it was like fronting a CBBC cookery show.

Tilly said: “I loved it because I was with my family. And it sounds weird, but I kind of grew up around cameras. You know, I was watching my dad do it at home, and I’d see that he is the same person when the camera’s on and the camera’s off.

“And I think that really helped me understand how to be. And it was a very, very relaxed show. Like, it was in my family kitchen. It was with my siblings. And yeah, it was very enjoyable. It was just in our summer holidays, so it felt very normal.”

Tilly, one of six children — alongside Megan, twins Holly and Jack, Oscar and Jesse — is the daughter of Gordon and broadcaster Tana Ramsay. She previously spoke to Country and Town House about being an aspiring cook around the famously critical chef.

She said: “I wouldn’t say it was tough love. I think it was just getting me involved. That was his approach. It was, ‘You can watch. If you fancy joining, I’ll give you a job. I’ll do this’.

“Dad wants to always share his knowledge. He always wants to excite other people to the same level that he feels.”

Meanwhile, a UK village has been catapulted into the spotlight after becoming the nation’s most searched holiday destination – a boost reportedly connected to Gordon. His Netflix series, Being Gordon Ramsay, offered audiences a glimpse into his Cornwall retreat in Rock.

It led to a spike in searches, including “Where is Rock in Cornwall?” and “Rock Beach Cornwall.” Elliot Walker, editor of local travel guide Cool Cornwall, said: “We always knew Rock was pretty special.

“But its appearance in a top TV show has dramatically boosted its fame and appeal. It’s wonderful to see more people discovering what those of us in Cornwall have quietly cherished for years.”

Elliot continued: “Anyone who visits Rock will understand why Gordon Ramsay has chosen this as his out-of-London retreat.

“The estuary views, dune-backed sandy beaches, lovely coastal walks, watersports such as sailing and wakeboarding, as well as several great restaurants and pubs, make this a truly special place to spend time.”
