A man carrying a Palestinian flag ran onto the field at Yankee Stadium during Friday night’s Yankees-Mets game, briefly stopping play during the seventh inning on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

The moment was later shown on Fox & Friends Weekend, where the incident was discussed in the context of the 9/11 anniversary.

Fox News host Griff Jenkins pointed to the strong reaction from the crowd, recalling other emotional baseball moments following the attacks, including Mike Piazza’s famous home run for the Mets just days after 9/11 and former President George W. Bush throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium later that month.

Rachel Campos-Duffy also questioned why anyone would choose the 9/11 anniversary to stage such a protest at a baseball game.

The man was later identified as 38-year-old Kelly Marcucci of Long Island. He is facing misdemeanor charges of interference with a professional sporting event and trespassing.

Marcucci was also wearing a jersey with the words “No Kings,” a phrase that has become associated with critics of President Donald Trump.

His social media activity has also drawn attention following the incident. Posts on his accounts show an interest in political issues and various conspiracy theories. Hours before the game, he reportedly shared a lengthy post discussing late-stage capitalism and criticizing Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, Mark Zuckerberg and Joe Rogan.
