Prince George to Reunite With Kate Middleton and Prince William During Upcoming School Break
Prince George is preparing for his first extended break from Eton College, giving him an opportunity to spend time with his parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine, and his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
According to Eton College’s official term calendar, the 13-year-old royal’s first long leave of the academic year will begin on Friday, October 23, and end on Sunday, November 8. The break will give George time away from boarding school as the Wales family approaches two autumn traditions: Halloween and Bonfire Night.
Prince George’s Holiday Coincides With Autumn Celebrations

George’s upcoming school holiday falls during a festive period for the royal family. Although Prince William and Princess Catherine generally keep their family’s Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations private, there have been glimpses of their seasonal traditions over the years.
Princess Catherine has previously been spotted shopping for Halloween costumes for her children, suggesting that the young royals take part in the occasion.
Bonfire Night, celebrated on November 5 in the United Kingdom, could also offer an opportunity for the family to enjoy an evening together. One nearby event is scheduled at Royal Windsor Racecourse, which will host a fireworks display on November 7.
Located less than 15 minutes from the family’s residence, the venue describes the event as a welcoming evening for families and friends as the bonfire season comes to a close.
While it remains unclear whether the Wales family will attend, the event offers a nearby option for enjoying the seasonal festivities during George’s time off from school.
George may also have had an opportunity to return home earlier in the term. Eton College’s first short leave took place from October 2 to October 4, allowing boarding students to spend a weekend away from campus.
Prince George Begins His First Term at Eton College
George, 13, began his first term at Eton College on September 8, 2026, following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, who attended the prestigious boarding school in Berkshire.
The young royal was accompanied by William and Catherine on his first day at the school, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his education.
George is now boarding at Manor House, the same boarding house where his father and uncle previously stayed during their time at Eton.
His upcoming long leave will provide a break from his new school routine and an opportunity to reconnect with his family before returning to his studies.
